Great Ocean Road (30th October)

Hello everyone i hope your all in good health.

We have had a great week camped at Prince town on the Great Ocean Road about 12 klm east of Port Campbell, the weather hasn’t been the best but we haven’t let it get in our way or dampen our spirits, it is such a dramatic coast line, and has been one of the best drives and scenic sites we have ever experienced, definitely recommend anyone taking some time and having a good look round here.

It pay’s to get off the tourist path and take to the walking tracks you get to see alot more than the post card sites.

This is a nice little walk over the reed swamp from our camp site to Princetown which has a population of only 459 the town consists of a general store/cafe and a great pub which is where i took Robyn for our wedding anniversary on Tuesday night the place was full of campers alike and we had a good time with plenty of drinks to go round.

We not only walked the sites of the coast line we ventured inland to sample some of the local produce, that being the chocolate factory, cheese factory and the local winery, we did go to the Timboon whiskey distillery but was closed when we got there 🙁 (too dam long at the chocky factory Robyn) not to worry made up for it at the wine tastings :-).

We spent a fun day looking around the Peterborough and Port Campbell townships, picking up our mail (big thanks to you Linda) and trying out most of the bakeries.

we also took in a bit of 4×4 trails in the Otway National Park up the sand dunes crossing creeks and onto the beach.

So that just about wraps up this part of Victoria, we now keep heading West to South Australia stopping at Port Fairy, Mt Gambier and then onto Robe.
