well we had a rough trip getting here with the ride over on the Spirit of tasmania, it wasn’t much better driving to Bruthen when we did arrive 8o-100klm winds coming from the NW, still it was a good experience towing the van with such big winds and i’m sure that will come in handy further down the track.
Bruthen is small town with the Tambo River running through it, the caravan park were staying at backs on to it, the park has only 8 powered sites which are large and well grassed (jock is allowed to roam free within reason) he doesn’t go far from the van anyways.
This is the river at the back of the park.
Jock having fun.
We have met some great like minded people so far staying here at Bruthen, Russell and Leanne From Mandurah WA we hope to catch up with them when we get to W.A.
The Manager, “Wally” is a good Bloke he shared many a tale and a few drinks with, Wally takes pride in his park and 0ozes enthusiasm for putting this quaint little town and beautiful area on the tourist map with folk festivals and good folk music.
There is a 96klm bike track that runs from Bainsdale to Orbost, we did about 10klm of it while we were here.
Below is Robyn on the track
So i would definitely recommend spending a week in Bruthen and the surrounding area, is a great place to explore from in any direction.
